Project Background

SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile (上汽通用五菱汽车股份有限公司 and abbreviated as SGMW) is a joint venture between SAIC Motor, General Motors, and Liuzhou Wuling Motors Co Ltd. It is based in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in southwestern China.

SGMW makes commercial and consumer vehicles sold in China under the Wuling and Baojun respectively. They have had big success in the market, enabling young people to their own car at a low price. Recently, they launched a new electric vehicle called “Hongguang Mini EV” In the whole Chinese market, it has ranked just after the Tesla “Model 3” making it a top selling car.

Our Solution

EIDETIC fabricated a 360-degree surrounding stage in the center of the booth to maximize the exposure of the brand new 'Mini EV' model in the event space. Along with this, Eidetic used individual stools to express a free-spirited environment which harmonized with the concept of the “Mini EV”.

The entire presentation along with all videos used the brand color convey the concept of the vehicle directly or indirectly to visitors through a unified tone and manner.

In order to grow into a customer-friendly brand, the company launched a new membership brand called "Ling Club," which collaborated with character branding agency “Egglab.” Together, they created two young and energetic characters (Xiao Wu and Xiao Ling). It was a well thought out strategy of Wuling's marketing to approach young customers brightly and energetically.
