IFA Berlin is the world’s leading consumer electronics exhibition, offering a glimpse into the future of smart appliances, home automation, and wearable technologies.

IFA, short for Internationale Funkausstellung, originally meant “International Radio Exhibition,” reflecting its early focus on wireless communication and radio technology. Since its debut in 1924, IFA has stood at the forefront of technological evolution, serving as a platform for groundbreaking innovations.
One of the most notable moments in IFA’s history came in 1930 when renowned physicist Albert Einstein took the stage as a keynote speaker. His speech explored the transformative power of electromagnetic waves and radio technology, offering a visionary perspective on how science and communication could shape the future. This milestone solidified IFA’s role not just as a trade show, but as a hub for scientific and technological progress.

Throughout the decades, IFA has continued to be a launchpad for world-changing innovations. In the 1930s, it showcased the world’s first television broadcast equipment. By the 1980s, it introduced personal computers to a global audience. From its origins in radio to its expansion into television, computing, mobile devices, and smart home technology, IFA has consistently reflected and driven the evolution of consumer electronics.

At IFA 2024, Eidetic Marketing showcased Midea’s impressive booth in Hall 5.1, covering approximately 28,000 square feet. To put that into perspective, that’s almost half the size of a standard football field.
Fabricating a booth of this scale requires careful preparation. For Midea’s display, our team arrived in Germany a month before the event to oversee the construction process, ensuring that the design, logistics, and build were on track for a smooth launch.
Such large booths often require early approvals from Messe Berlin’s operations office to comply with local regulations. Construction can only begin once permissions are secured. Additionally, services such as transportation logistics, electricity, and internet connectivity must be applied for through the *IFA eZone—a centralized system for exhibitors.
For IFA 2024, super early applications opened on July 29, with booth construction starting on August 26. Staying ahead of these deadlines is essential for avoiding delays and ensuring everything is ready on time.
*After your company registers as an IFA exhibitor, the operations office will provide a dedicated exhibitor ID for accessing the IFA eZone Site.
Show Service encompasses everything necessary for booth setup, operation, and dismantling to ensure a seamless exhibition experience. In home appliance exhibitions like IFA, products such as washing machines, induction cooktops, and other appliances often require live demonstrations.
To ensure these appliances function smoothly, essential utilities must be properly set up. This includes basic utilities like internet and electricity, as well as more specialized services such as water supply and drainage or ventilation systems. Additionally, exhibitors are required to install sprinklers in compliance with the venue’s fire safety regulations.
| Show Services | Schedule | Note |

Messe Berlin is massive, resembling a sprawling maze. During IFA, with over 210,000 visitors and 1,800 companies attending, parking becomes one of the biggest challenges. Here’s how to navigate parking at this international exhibition.
The parking lots around Messe Berlin are at least a 10-minute walk from the exhibition halls. For exhibitors carrying heavy equipment or large amounts of materials, this distance can be a significant hurdle. In such cases, securing a VIP Parking Ticket is a great option. This ticket grants you access to parking spaces near the halls, making it easier to load and unload items.
However, the cost of convenience is high: €509 per vehicle for the entire exhibition period. If you miss the application deadline, which is two weeks before the show opens, prices increase significantly.😇
For those without a VIP Parking Ticket, general parking is available at €20 per day in designated lots. Additionally, there is a free parking area near the north side of Messe Berlin, around Halls 18–20, for exhibitors looking to cut costs.

To save costs, you might consider using only one VIP Parking Ticket for your primary vehicle (e.g., for loading/unloading) while other team members park in general parking lots for €20 per day. This approach balances convenience with budget efficiency.
By following these tips and planning ahead, exhibitors can avoid parking headaches and focus on ensuring a successful IFA experience.

Applying for show services and parking permits on time is key to a smooth exhibition at IFA Berlin. Missing deadlines can lead to operational issues and added costs, so early preparation is essential.
In our next guide, we’ll cover must-know stores near Messe Berlin for last-minute essentials like furniture, groceries, and client snacks. Stay tuned!

IFA Berlin is one of the three largest IT and technology exhibitions in the world, renowned for its scale and influence. With a history dating back to 1924, it holds the title of the oldest global home appliance exhibition. The event takes place in the massive 2,045,142 sq. ft. Messe Berlin Exhibition Hall, attracting the latest innovations in home appliances and consumer electronics.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of IFA Berlin, a historic milestone for the exhibition. Originally established before World War II, the exhibition hall was constructed during the Nazi era, making it a site of significant historical interest. Notably, Albert Einstein delivered a speech at the event, further solidifying its legacy as a cultural and technological herita ge.
In 2024, 138 countries and about 1,800 companies participated, showcasing groundbreaking advancements and underscoring IFA’s global appeal.

At the 2024 IFA Berlin, Eidetic Marketing was proud to serve as the master agency for Midea, one of the world’s leading home appliance brands. Our team, comprising staff from across the globe, executed a stunning booth in Hall 5.1, covering an expansive 27,614 sq. ft.
The booth showcased 200 home appliance pieces, including air conditioners, washers and dryers, refrigerators, and more. We also built a two-story business center to create a professional meeting space. The meticulous organization allowed attendees to experience Midea’s innovations in a cohesive and impactful way.

IFA Berlin is where technology meets humanity, and home appliance brands combine IT and AI innovation with a focus on user experience. Visitors were drawn to Midea’s latest advancements, which demonstrated how smart technology can enhance everyday life.

To strike the right balance, we ensured the booth was inviting, natural, and people-centered. By studying Midea’s hundreds of products, we designed a space where attendees could engage with technology while feeling a sense of warmth and comfort. The booth embodied “Technology with Humanity,” showcasing products in an intuitive and relatable way.
To execute a successful booth at IFA Berlin, user experience is paramount. Organizing attendees’ journey through the booth requires thoughtful planning.
At Midea’s booth, we created zones for specific product categories—air conditioners, refrigerators, and induction cooktops—that flowed seamlessly together. The design featured carefully curated lighting set at 4000K to create a welcoming atmosphere and offer an approachable and intuitive experience. The goal was to allow visitors to envision themselves using the products in real-life scenarios.

Over 30,000 visitors explored the Midea booth during the five-day exhibition, with 8,300 attendees actively participating in product demonstrations. The booth left a lasting impression, as visitors experienced more than just new product launches—they felt at home in the space. This emotional connection emphasized the potential of exhibitions to create meaningful and memorable moments that extend beyond the showroom floor.

IFA Berlin is not just an exhibition; it’s a global platform for innovation and human connection. At Midea’s booth, Eidetic Marketing demonstrated how creative booth design, thoughtful user experiences, and a perfect balance of technology and humanity can elevate brand perception and audience engagement. For brands seeking to make a lasting impact, IFA Berlin offers endless possibilities and partnering with an experienced agency like Eidetic can turn your vision into an unforgettable experience that resonates with every visitor.
